Bring CALM to Africa
Help people with advanced illness live meaningfully
Across Africa, many patients facing advanced, incurable illness live with complex physical, emotional and spiritual distress that too often goes unassessed and unmanaged.
APCA and its partners adapted and piloted CALM (Managing Advanced Disease and Living Meaningfully), a person-centred psychotherapy intervention that gives patients a supportive space to express themselves. Our pilot in Uganda showed that CALM reduces anxiety, worry and psychological and spiritual distress, and helps patients talk about their needs and preferences.

We are now taking CALM to four countries through our network of members and implementing partners. Your gift brings this care to more patients and families.
